Misha is a proven school leader and educator with over 25 years of experience at International Baccalaureate and American curriculum Pre-K to Grade 12 schools in the United States, Cyprus, and Nepal before arriving at ASP. Misha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School, and a Master in Educational Leadership degree from Baruch College, City University of New York. His longstanding professional mission is to develop all types of learners into global citizens with a growth mindset and empowered to achieve educational excellence, nurture personal well-being, and change the world for the better.
Originally from Mutoko, Zimbabwe, Gwinyai is a proud ASP alum, having attended from 1982 to 1989. While at ASP, he was a member of four International Schools Sports Tournament (ISST) championship teams. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Art in Foreign Language.
Prior to joining ASP, Gwinyai served as the Athletics and Activities Director at the American School of Asuncion in Paraguay for five years, and at the Harare International School in Zimbabwe for three years.
He and his wife, Stephanie, are proud parents to Bailey, Devyn, and Hadyn, and are also proud grandparents to Derek. Gwinyai is a die-hard supporter of Liverpool Football Club, and also enjoys cooking.
Tony, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, USA, is the Middle School Director at the American School of Paris. Prior to his move to Paris, he spent four years in Santiago, Chile, where he served as the Middle School Principal at The International School Nido de Aguilas.
Tony began his career as a Middle School Humanities Teacher (10 years) and Middle School Director (6 years) at the Vail Mountain School in Colorado, USA, before joining St. John’s Episcopal School in Maryland, as their Middle School Director, and finally, Middle School Director (10 years) at the Holton-Arms School, before his move to Chile.
Tony’s rich experiences as a Middle School educator and administrator include unforgettable moments like organizing a yearly Grade 8 service trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, after Hurricane Katrina, developing an integrated humanities curriculum that merged Language Arts and Social Studies, and creating tools to promote more frequent and candid conversations about teaching and learning among his faculty.
Tony lives with his wife, Torrey, his children, Nathaniel and Sarah, and their dog Jack. Tony is a huge fan of Scrabble and flag football, and spends his free time listening to music (the Rolling Stones and Taylor Swift are some of his favorites!), and running. He also enjoys eating spicy chicken wings and Maryland steamed crabs when he’s back in Baltimore.
Clive has a BA in French from the University of Florida and holds an MBA from Babson. He started his career as an entrepreneur, working internationally in banking and venture capital, before transitioning to non-profit school fundraising—his passion. He first served as Director of Development at St. Andrew's School in Barrington, Rhode Island, and then spent 10 years as Director of Institutional Advancement at the International School of Prague. Before joining ASP, he was Director of Institutional Advancement at the American School of Japan.
Larry Love is the Director of Technology at the American School of Paris. Larry, his wife Kirsten, who teaches IB and AP Music, and choir, and their son Jonathan, joined ASP 10 years ago after spending four years at Frankfurt International School. Before moving to Europe, Larry taught at the Taipei American School for ten years, and across New Zealand for ten years prior to Taipei.
A talented educator, Larry has taught Upper School Computer Science, Composition, and Music Technology, as well as Choral Music across Lower, Middle, and Upper School. He has also directed several musical theater productions.
When not spending time outdoors with his family, Larry likes to build smart (connected) devices. He holds a Bachelor of Education from Massey University in New Zealand, and speaks English, French, and a little Mandarin Chinese.
Carleen is the current Director for Teaching and Learning. She has previously served as the Associate Director for Teaching and Learning, the Interim Middle School Director, and Interim Lower School Director at the American School of Paris. Originally from Long Island, New York, she has lived in France for 19 years with her husband Alain, and her children Sean, Owen, and Chloe. Prior to joining ASP in 2004, Carleen taught Secondary Mathematics at Horace Greeley High School for six years and the Dwight School for four years. At ASP, Carleen first taught Upper School mathematics, before serving as Curriculum Coordinator and interim Middle School Director. She enjoys creating lessons with teachers where students learn by doing and teachers facilitate the lesson.
Carleen holds a Masters in Special Education and Teaching from Fordham University, a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Secondary Teaching from the University of Stony Brook, a Certificate of International School Leadership with the Principals’ Training Center, and a New York State Certification in Secondary Teacher of Mathematics and Special Education. She speaks both English and French.
Joyce Kearney has served as the Director of Finances and Human Resources for ASP since 2004. She came to ASP from Ireland, and speaks fluent French. She holds a Bachelor's of Science with Honors in Economics, and a Graduate Diploma in Administrative Accounting and Law. She is an Association Chartered Certified Accountant.
Daniela is an innovative professional with a unique combination of experiences spanning international education, performing arts, culture, translation and language instruction. With a focus on shaping programs, she has worked closely with prominent figures in their field and has developed a prestigious portfolio of institutional and private partnerships and cooperation.
Daniela joined the American School of Paris Extension Program in 2006 teaching English and was subsequently appointed Secondary Curriculum Coordinator and, in 2021, Assistant Director.
Prior to joining ASP, Daniela worked as a program coordinator for leading international performing arts institutions and held various leadership roles in education and in research. Since 2008, she continues as the lead of the English Language Schools Association that supports professional development and cooperation among international schools in France.
Daniela holds an MPhil in Latin American Studies, a Masters in English Language and Literature, certification in School Leadership and Management and has a broad range of training in education with a focus on language learning. She is a former member of the New England Society of Translators and is a published translator.
